 Founded in 1949, Paramount Truck Body , was driven by the post-World War II demand for commercial/civilian trucks and vocational truck bodies in Southern California. With an early entrepreneurial attitude of "We will build anything for a sale," a rich experience of variety and a strong structural integrity was established with the "Paramount Body."Original Paramount Truck Body products included: galvanized van bodies, packaged dairy product delivery bodies, furniture moving bodies, cattle & agricultural product bodies, grocery delivery bodies and plumbers' utility bodies. With the tremendous and unprecedented road construction and home building in the late 1950's & early 1960's, Paramount Truck Body started specializing in the heavy truck market. Special heavy duty flat bed bodies specifically designed to carry & haul steel and wood products to the construction site were pioneered by Paramount. Dump truck bodies & dump truck hoists then followed and started the reputation that follows the Paramount name today. Paramount also introduced the twin telescopic & front mount telescopic from Johnson Hydraulic Mfg. Company to the West Coast. Paramount then established itself as the largest distributor & installer of the "Euclid Dump Body" in the 1960's & 1970's. Scelzi Equipment, Inc. today manufactures over 300 dump bodies per year and over 300 flat / stake bed bodies per year, all built to the customers' unique and different style requests. Balancing Paramount's dump truck body market offerings is a 50 year history of flat bed & stake body manufacturing.
